BUILDING
The original project for the house at Toom-Kuninga 12 dates back to 1882, designed by Nikolai Thamm. A new project was completed already in 1899 by architect Konstantin Wilcken, planning an extension towards Toom-Kuninga 10. In 1912, architect Ernst Boustedt designed an extension for the courtyard area. The original design envisioned a symmetrical façade rich in historicist style, characterized by wide corner boards, abundant cornices, and an emphasized staircase structure featuring a dormer window. Unfortunately, the building later suffered significant damage, and renovations from the Soviet era resulted in extensive alterations to both the interior and exterior.

Renovation work on the building began in 2018. As many original details as possible were preserved, and new ones were created based on the originals. Situated on a steep slope, the building now boasts a refreshed, historically sensitive exterior. The building contains only seven apartments in total. A well-functioning apartment association and friendly neighbors are additional bonuses.
